Common menopause symptoms that we can help with

It is a common misconception that menopause symptoms start and end with the infamous ‘hot flush’.

In fact, the list of the symptoms and effects of the menopause is long and includes many psychological as well as physical symptoms. These can be anything from:

poor sleeping
brain fog
anxiety
low mood
joint pain
vaginal soreness
recurrent urinary infections

And lots more besides. In fact a lot of women we see don’t even realise that some of the symptoms they are experiencing could be connected to the menopause; many more are misdiagnosed and may not receive the right treatment.

You can book your new patient appointment using the live booking links below. If you have questions, concerns, or need help, please feel free to contact our friendly reception team who can talk you through the process and make an appointment for you.
60-Minute New Patient Appointment

Your doctor will take the time to get a full picture of your health, including your medical history, symptoms, and your individual concerns. They will take time to talk through possible treatments, including hormonal and non-hormonal options, and to answer any questions. You will leave the appointment with a treatment plan.
30-Minute Follow Up Appointment

The follow-up consultation with your doctor is an opportunity to review how you are feeling on your new treatment plan, and to make any adjustments that may be helpful.
On-going Support & Monitoring

Once your symptoms are stable, we can either see you for an annual follow up consultation, if you’d like us to continue your care - or we can ask your GP to take over your care within the NHS.

Meet our Team of Menopause Specialist Doctors

Dr Katie Armstrong

I founded Clinic51 to offer an holistic approach to women’s health. Being an NHS GP with 20 years’ experience and a busy working mum in my 40s, I understand the impact hormones can have on a woman’s life. I firmly believe that we should not have to be at the mercy of our hormones; that women should continue to be happy and healthy, throughout their reproductive life, through the menopause, and beyond.
Dr Rhianydd McGlone

Rhianydd trained at St.George’s Medical School in London, and became an NHS GP in 2013. Having developed a special interest in women’s health, she completed further training with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, where she received an Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care.
Dr Sian Evans

Sian trained at Cambrige University and St Mary’s Medical School, Imperial College. She is an experienced GP of more than 20 years experience and has a special interest in women’s health. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and is a recognised menopause specialist, holding the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She is also a trainer with the British Menopause Society.
Dr Sam Brown

Sam has over 20 years experience as an NHS doctor with a special interest in Women’s Health and Menopause care. She is a member of The British Menopause Society and holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She is also a trainer with the British Menopause Society.
Dr Jo Bonser

Jo trained at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College London and graduated in 1999 with Honours in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Surgery. Since qualifying, she has enjoyed all aspects of medicine and holistic care and went on to specialise in General Practice, gaining a distinction for the Membership of the Royal College of GPs (MRCGP). She is a recognised British Menopause Society specialist, and holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She also has an interest in lifestyle medicine.
Dr Lucy Oxley

Lucy trained in the midlands at Warwick Medical School and has worked as a GP here in West Sussex since 2017.
During this time she has developed a love of Lifestyle Medicine, preventative medicine and women's health. She completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014 (DRCOG) and has built on this framework with the latest British Menopause Society Accreditation, in addition to completing the Royal College of General Practitioners accredited qualification in Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr Leah Deutsch

Leah gained her medical degree from Nottingham University Medical school, before carrying out her training in London and for a period in Australia. She worked as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in the NHS in North East London, where she established a community menopause service, before moving to West Sussex.
She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the British Menopause Society and is a registered menopause specialist.
